I’m accident prone in every sense of the word. Case in point: as I type this, my leg is elevated for a sprained foot and ankle –from walking on a flat sidewalk. So basically, any peace of mind I can get in my life, I will gladly take.
My parents have gifted me with a AAA Membership every year for my birthday since I got my license.
When I was asked to partner with AAA, I was thrilled! A service I have used since 2001 (I’m aging myself…) that has saved my behind many of times. Some examples include–
- My first car was a 1993 Honda Civic, and while I felt like a million bucks driving it, it gave me a run for my money. One time coming home from UMass Amherst, driving down the winding and rural route that is 202, my car broke down. Because I had AAA, I was able to tow my car back to my hometown where my trusted mechanic is located (and get myself back in one piece in the process).
- Another time, my car got stuck in the mud — in my parents’ driveway. The wet ground combined with the slope of the driveway created the perfect storm and that baby wasn’t budging. Who did I call? You guessed it.
- One year, the week of Christmas, my Passat’s battery died at my cousin’s house. When AAA arrived, they couldn’t jump it because it was too far gone, but they did replace my battery on the spot for the same price I would have paid in a shop. Can’t beat that, right?
In addition to saving the day, you can also use your card for savings and discounts. You’d be surprised how many benefits (hotels, tickets, shops, etc.) are available to you as a member.
Have any AAA stories of your own? If so, post them with the tag #AdventureswithAAA. If you aren’t yet a member, when could you have used it? Either way, you have a chance to win a one-year Basic membership to be used for a new member or for a renewal!

Awwwww. I love these stories.
My dad used to get me a AAA membership every year. ☺️❤️It’s one of the things I miss the most about not having him here. It’s such a wonderful way to always feel protected and to know your parents care.
My first car was a ’91 Honda Civic. 😊 It broke down in the middle of rush hour traffic in downtown Seattle (I lived there for 3 years….way too cold for a Maui girl). AAA came to my rescue!
This year my fella got me the AAA membership, so the tradition carries on…in a new way.
Feel better soon!
Much aloha, Mika Harmony
