This post was created in partnership with Eastern Bank. All opinions, images, and ideas are my own.

I believe most people are good at their core, but it’s easy to get wrapped up in our hectic lives and forget how fortunate the vast majority of us are in the grand scheme of things. Sometimes it takes a little friendly reminder, or a special initiative, to get us moving.
.
Enter Eastern Bank, a Massachusetts based institution (also America’s oldest and largest mutual bank), who will be celebrating their 200th (!) birthday next year and decided to encourage and inspire acts of goodness with their newly launched Join Us For Good program. Eastern Bank strives to shine a spotlight on stories of real people doing good in their communities, while providing opportunities to do the same.
.
To kick off the ongoing program, between March 7 and April 4, 2017, New Englanders from MA, NH & RI can participate in Eastern Bank’s Selfies For Good giveaway where the bank will be giving away $200 to five-hundred randomly selected winners who submit a selfie using #JoinUsForGood on Twitter, Instagram or the Selfies For Good website. To enter, view the Selfies For Good gallery, or check the weekly winners, visit JoinUsForGood.com/enter.

If you saw my Instagram post last week, I kicked off the campaign by donating some of my clothes. This is something I try to do on a regular basis and if you don’t already, I hope you will try my method for making it a recurring act of good. I always keep a bag in my closet to add to as I go. All those clothes you try on, but never actually leave the house wearing? In they go! When the bag is full, I drop it off to a bin and start again. Sometimes it happens more regularly than others (ahem, spring cleaning), but the point is to just keep a visual reminder so there’s no excuse not to do it.
.
Next I’d love to draw your attention to Blanket Boston, which was started by one of my closest friends. They collect new or gently used/laundered blankets to give out to the homeless in the Boston area. The weather may be warming up, but there are sadly too many people on the streets year round.

Throughout this month, I will continue to show you how I am doing good in my community through my Instagram posts. I hope you’ll join me! If you do #JoinUsForGood, feel free to tag or mention me so I can see what you’re up to! Plus that way I can steal your ideas, but it’s all in the name of good anyway 😉
